Arrived in Niigata...

And spent my evening at Health Land. Not the ideal way to spend my evening but I must say that I love relaxing. This place is all about relaxation. Six different ofuro, restaraunt, gym, arcade, massage rooms, food and drink vending machines etc. Everyone wears these uniform terry cloth tops and shorts. It reminds me of jimjilbbang in Korea.

Bye bye Miyagi

And hello Fukushima. Right now I'm camping out in my car with Tracey in this car park in Fukushima. After a long day of driving to different sites, it was nice to enjoy onsen and then some conbini food.

This picture is of Akiu waterfall. Supposedly it's one of Japan's top 3 waterfalls. Personally I like Nikaho's better ;p

Usually Fridays are happy days in which I want the school day to quickly pass while Friday night can just take its time. Today was different in that I wanted time to just slow down so that I could get everything finished. My to do list is quite long and I want to be sleeping by midnight.
Just came back from badminton. It's been two weeks so I'm out of shape. But playing badminton is a lot of fun :)

Picture of the day is of a keychain. It's been on my cellphone for a long time and reminded me of good times. I guess it was its time to go.

I knew it!

365 memories?  Not even close!  Wishful thinking that I would post a picture every day =p  So what brings me back to this blog?  I mean, my last post was in July of last year.  Well, I figured that I started this blog because I knew I would be living in Japan for at least a year.  Over a year has passed and I will leave in August.  I only have a few more months left and I'm trying to cram so many things into this time period.  Perhaps that will provide for some great pictures ^-^

Since it's been so long, I doubt that anyone actually reads this blog.  So if it's worth anything at all, this blog will provide me with memories of my remaining days in Japan.

Care package :)

First off, a big 고망워요 to the parentals for sending me a care package in an extremely timely manner. They packed in a good mix of things I wanted, didn't want and didn't expect. Got a good mix of American, Hawaiian, Filipino, Korean and Japanese :p I will be enjoying some Coffee Prince soon :)

On a side note, the prefectural sports tournament is this weekend. Remember my high jump student? I was chatting with him and the rest of the track team after school. I got reminded that I was surrounded by junior high/high school males. I was exposed to boys 'cleaning their umbrellas' for a good two minutes before I excused myself. Boys will be boys :p

Relaxing Tuesday

Today one of my elementary teachers invited me to join her for some coffee after school. She showed me this cute little cafe next to the train station. I love this cafe made of cedar. The cafe is unique because all the cups and saucers are different and the barista roasts coffee in the cafe. It was nice to chat and unwind with sensei while dreaming about our next Korea trip :p

Tonight I feel like updating so I'll try. John visited this past weekend. I'm a terrible hostess because I didn't know where to take him. We were lost half the time but the other half of the time we saw awesome sights and ate yummy food. We eventually found a waterfall. Naso waterfall in kisakata. We enjoyed snacks at Senshu park in Akita city. Ate okonomiyaki. Drank Chokai sake and ate yummies at the izakaya.

Random other things
-finally got my new bed, blue sheets and blue/yellow duvet cover. Just need curtains now.
-won my first mini badminton game against coach tonight
-got my new racket, grip and shoes. But still got mean blisters on my toes.
-cream puffs from that one bakery are delish. Lawson's cream puffs suffice when I feel broke and the bakery is closed.
-Remember my last post about my JHS high jump student? Well one of the cutest 4th graders at elementary has the same name. So, if you're name is Shun, you're automatically awesome. That's a fact :p

Manga, drama or real life

I know I haven't been updating this baby but I've been a busy bee. I will update sometime because I have so many pictures of random curiosities.

On Monday one of my third years told me about what I thought was pole vaulting. I thought that was awesome. Yesterday he told me to watch him practice after school. I told him to come get me at the teachers room before he practices. I waited for about 15 minutes but had to leave. So today he waited to talk to me during cleaning time. I explained to him about yesterday with major dramatization :p Today he got me from the teachers room after school and I watched him practice. Turns out he does the high jump and not the pole vault. He started from 145 cm and cleared 160 cm. Dude and dudettes, that's my height! So I agreed to give him a present. What should I give him?

Anywho, while I was watching him practice, I thought about the manga/drama Hana Kimi. One of my favorite Japanese dramas and the first manga I've read. The story is about a girl who pretends she's a boy to attend an all boys school to be with her role model who is an awesome high jumper. Just thought it was a kwinkie dinkie because this student is the only high jumper in my whole junior high.
